Digital Marketing Executive

The Digital Marketing Executive is responsible for the creation and execution of Calligo’s global digital marketing strategy, with key focuses in Canada, US, UK, Channel Islands and Luxembourg.

The goals of the strategy will be to support brand awareness, generate leads and maintain audience’s engagement through the sales process.

The role reports into the CMO (UK-based) and involves working closely with the Marketing team (based in UK and Jersey) and the sales and territory heads in the UK, Europe, Canada and the US.

Expectations of the role include:

  • Devising our digital marketing strategy, complementing existing activities
  • Using SEO, PPC, paid search and social media to measurably contribute to the lead generation, lead nurturing and brand awareness efforts of the wider content marketing activity
  • Management of paid media budget
  • The creation of content to support these activities (blogs, ad copy, web pages etc), supported by Calligo’s in-house design team
  • Contributing to the website’s conversion rate optimization and usability

Experience in B2B technology marketing is essential
Excellent SEO copywriting skills are essential

Key Duties

  • Drive high-value online traffic to the company website through SEO, PPC, paid search and social media
  • Ensure consistently high conversion rates for campaigns and website properties
  • Work with the wider marketing team to improve the usability, content and conversion of the company website
  • Lead keyword research, on-page optimisation and necessary content creation to seize and maintain high search position on valuable, lead-generating search terms (currently supported by an agency)
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ranking factors on Google and Bing and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Support wider department’s lead generation, lead nurturing and brand awareness strategies with PPC and paid search across Google, Bing & LinkedIn.
  • Recommend suitable platforms, techniques and approaches
  • Execute on plan, delivering a clear ROI
  • Responsibility for planning and budgetary control of all digital marketing activities
  • Oversee the organic social media strategy and performance for the company
  • Provide accurate and regular reporting on all digital marketing, showing commercial impact to the business and ROI, plus areas for strategic and tactical improvements.
  • Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing.
  • Full responsibility for the copywriting of the necessary content pieces, ranging from social posts and ad copy to blogs and articles. Also entails briefing in-house design team.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant technology trends and the issues in Calligo’s target markets in order to deliver relevant, considered, contextual content.
  • Support team management by making sure security and quality compliance techniques are included in the planning and delivery of department projects both internally and for clients
  • Support team management in maintaining staff adherence to all team compliance policies and procedures


Typical Activities Include

  • Execute digital marketing campaigns
  • Liaison with local sales teams and Chief Commercial Officer to devise and execute appropriate campaigns
  • Liaison with Practice Directors (including of Data Privacy and Data Insights) to determine best audience targeting
  • Creating written content to support campaigns, often from scratch or based on existing materials
  • Analysing campaigns’ conversion rates and making improvements
  • General maintenance of website
  • Maintaining corporate social media platforms
  • Reporting on campaigns’ performance and ROI


Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years in SEO, PPC, paid search and social media within B2B tech
  • B2B tech experience is essential. Experience in cloud computing, managed services, data privacy and/or artificial intelligence would be ideal
  • Proven ability to lead own area of responsibility and deliver quantifiable results
  • Able to work both individually and within a disparate team
  • Full understanding of PESO channels and their appropriate use
  • Proficient in wide range of marketing technologies, particularly Google Analytics, HubSpot and WordPress

  • Copywriting will be tested as part of the selection process. High quality, persuasive writing skills will be expected, plus knowledge and understanding of B2B tech and business issues.
