Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will help support the sales plan as built by the Chief Commercial Officer, Senior Vice President Sales and SVP & Managing Director. Although you are an individual contributor within the business, you will be part of a team with a strong identity and a reputation for a high standard of work and achievement.

You will have the opportunity to craft the business plan for success within your role and seek virtual team support to be successful in executing that plan. This is a new business, field-based role selling directly to customers.

You will need to have strong virtual team management skills within Calligo.  We are looking for a strong sales individual who has experience in new business acquisition, can prioritise and is adept at building solid, repeatable value propositions, particularly in a cloud-focused environment.

The role, responsibilities and geographical focus might change and develop over time along with the company’s rapid growth.

Key Duties:

  • Prospect for new client sales opportunities, including an active sales prospecting program utilizing direct marketing, telephone calls, event participation, and sales presentations to secure the maximum business possible.
  • Meet 100% of sales revenue targets and maintain forecast projections within +/-20% of objectives.
  • Provide market trends, industry and competitive information for analysis, sales strategy development, and sales initiatives to help maintain market competitiveness.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s products and services, with an ability to explain the functions, features, benefits, and cost.
  • Develop and lead customer relationships that range from CIO and CEO to architects with a personal network at senior and influential level.

Typical Activities Include:

  • Execute the sales strategy to meet the agreed milestones and timescales.
  • Meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales activity targets (KPIs).
  • Maintain assigned sales funnel targets by stage.
  • Keep comprehensive sales records and report on activities and results by daily inputs to the company CRM.
  • Prepare and submit weekly sales forecasts.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional team members to deliver complete business solutions.
  • Develop and prepare emails, proposals, and general correspondence with a high level of thoroughness and professionalism including conducting prospect meetings and making effective presentations.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, creativity and enthusiasm in achieving results directly.

Skills and Experience:

  • Significant and attested sales success in a new business environment over a 3-5 year period with experience of meeting or exceeding assigned goals and targets.
  • Strong presentation skills with proven ability to speak comfortably in front of groups and to executive audiences, to effectively articulate solutions and appropriately positioning value propositions.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand related industry technology, articulate that knowledge and formulate effective solutions with attention to profitability.
  • Seasoned in identifying new sales opportunities, preparing prospect presentations and solutions development.
  • Proven ‘Hunter’ focused track record of success.
